Deià is small on purpose — narrow lanes, honey-colored stone houses, a mountain behind and the sea below. Robert Graves lived and is buried here, and the village hasn't tried especially hard to modernize since.
It gets busy with day-trippers by midday in summer. Stay a night if you can, or arrive early.
